Questions
Where an answer is not published, this page says so. Ask it on your first call or text to 443-223-7403.
What happens if someone uses, and is there testing?
Every house is substance-free. The testing policy, and what follows a return to use, are not published here. Ask about both on your first call or text to 443-223-7403, before you choose a house.
Is Severn Home treatment?
No.
Severn Home is housing, not treatment. We encourage every resident to keep working with outside providers, whether that is a private therapist, an outside intensive outpatient program or another evidence-based option, and to stay connected to a recovery fellowship.
If you or a loved one need treatment, start with findtreatment.gov or the SAMHSA hotline at 1-800-662-4357.
- Structured, gender-specific recovery housing for adults
- A five-stage program that lifts restrictions as you show stability
- House meetings, expectations, curfews and sign-outs in the early stages
- A mentor who checks in daily for your first month
- Private and semi-private rooms with every amenity included
- Not residential treatment, PHP, IOP or therapy
- Not medical care, detox or a mental health facility
- Not a substitute for the outside therapist, outpatient program or recovery fellowship we encourage you to keep
Some people search for this as a halfway house. Severn Home is sober living: gender-specific houses for adults in recovery, with house rules and no medical or clinical services.
Questions about sober living
Sober living is structured, substance-free housing for adults in recovery. Residents live together under clear house expectations, keep working their program, and rebuild daily life with accountability around them. It is housing and community, not clinical treatment.
